Product Statuses

When opening a product in PCM, two status options will be available:

  1. The status product attribute which can be found in the product general information section

  2. The ORP product status, which can be found at the bottom of the page.

Product status

PCM can export products to channels such as Magento and Amazon. PCM will export products to these channels when at least one of the purchasable variant status is set to COMPLETE. Modifications on a completed product are also synced to Magento/Amazon.

The status can be changed by clicking the status button, and selecting the new status (see image 1).

The following product statuses are available in ORP:

NEW

New product available in PCM

APPROVE

In some cases you’ll need approval form an admin. In this case you need to set the status to Approve. Then the product is ready to be checkt by the admin.

MIXED

Some product variants have been enriched and their status has been completed, some products still have a status ‘new’.

COMPLETE

The product is completed, and the product sync to your online platform has been triggered.

ARCHIVED

The product is no longer in use, and will be ‘hidden’ from the product list page in PCM. You can find these products marked archived by filtering on status.

Status product attribute

The status product attribute is a status update for the product that will be used for Essenza’s internal usage. Whenever a product changes status, simply update the dropdown field with the appropriate status. To do this click on the edit button and navigate to the general tab at the bottom of the page, from there you will find a status menu, click and select the product attribute status (see image 5). The product management in PCM allows for the following minimum set of product statuses to be used:

  • In development

  • In development, in collection

  • Development complete

  • On hold

  • Price calculation export

  • Item ready for Xlenz

  • Ready for platforms

  • Out of collection

  • Inactive

Two of the above statuses result in an export being triggered.

  1. When a product’s status is set to Item ready for Xlenz, the product will be exported to Xlenz.

  2. When a product’s status is set to Ready for platforms, the product will be exported to the channels.

When a product is edited an update will be sent to a channel, to Xlenz or to both depending on the status of the product. The status of the product can be updated by changing the ORP status.
